TrackStudio: An Integrated Toolkit for Markerless Tracking

arXiv — cs.CVWednesday, November 12, 2025 at 5:00:00 AM
TrackStudio represents a significant advancement in markerless motion tracking, a field that has evolved rapidly over the past decade. Developed to bridge the gap between complex tracking technologies and user accessibility, TrackStudio integrates established open-source tools into a modular, GUI-based pipeline that functions without programming expertise. This toolkit offers automatic 2D and 3D tracking, calibration, preprocessing, feature extraction, and visualization, making it suitable for diverse research environments. Its effectiveness was validated through testing in three different settings, utilizing both low-cost webcams and high-resolution cameras, achieving impressive performance metrics with average inter-frame correlations exceeding 0.98 and low triangulation errors. By simplifying the process of motion tracking, TrackStudio empowers non-experts to engage in advanced research, potentially transforming various fields including behavioral and clinical studies.
