Daddy longlegs are actually bloodthirsty killers—of frogs

Researchers have revealed that the commonly overlooked arachnids known as daddy longlegs, or harvestmen, are actually predators of small vertebrates, including frogs. This finding challenges the perception of these creatures as harmless and highlights their role in the ecosystem as hunters.

The implications of this research are significant as it sheds light on the ecological dynamics involving harvestmen and their prey, suggesting that these arachnids play a more active role in controlling frog populations than previously understood.
