Northern lights visible across US as geomagnetic storm lights up skies

A powerful geomagnetic storm illuminated the skies across much of the United States late Tuesday and early Wednesday, allowing residents in over a dozen states, from New York to Texas and Tennessee, to witness the northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis. Forecasters have indicated that additional auroral activity may be visible on Wednesday night as well, providing another opportunity for viewing this natural phenomenon.
