California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer has released a video supporting transgender athlete AB Hernandez ahead of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) state track and field finals, prompting a mix of reactions from the public and political figures.

Steyer's endorsement of Hernandez highlights his commitment to inclusivity in sports, particularly as he campaigns for governor, where issues of equity and representation are increasingly pivotal in the political landscape.
