Government using machine learning to help create draft plans for NDIS participants, documents reveal

Documents obtained by Guardian Australia reveal that the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is utilizing machine learning to assist in creating draft plans for NDIS participants. A six-month trial involving 300 staff members using Microsoft's Copilot AI began in January 2022. Machine learning, defined as a subset of AI that employs algorithms to learn from data and make decisions or predictions, is being integrated into the planning process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in supporting individuals with disabilities.
