NGO Handicap International on the dangers of landmines in post-Assad Syria

Handicap International is actively addressing the tragic consequences of landmines in post-Assad Syria, where around 1,200 people have lost their lives to these dangers. Noor Bimbashi, a Senior Advocacy and Policy Officer for the NGO, recently returned from a three-week mission in Syria, where she encountered a resilient population filled with hope despite their hardships. This initiative is crucial not only for preventing further casualties but also for supporting those already affected, highlighting the ongoing humanitarian efforts in a region still grappling with the aftermath of conflict.
